Guitarist Christopher Reimer died on Tuesday, Feb. 21, due to complications from a heart condition. He was 26. The Calgary native was best known for his work with the band Women, which released two albums of stark, Sonic Youth-influenced indie-noise-rock via Jagjaguwar Records.

Last year, however, Reimer was a touring member of indie-pop band the Dodos; he added texture and grit to their percussion-heavy songs.

His sister has set up a memorial website in his honor, where fans, friends and family can leave messages of remembrance.
