Veteran drummer Robbie France died on Jan. 14, reportedly of a ruptured aorta. He was 52. Although the musician spent time in many pop, classic rock and metal bands (including UFO, Wishbone Ash and Diamond Head), he was also the co-founder of Britpop group Skunk Anansie.

France co-wrote the latter band's single, "Weak," and played on their 1995 debut album, 'Paranoid And Sunburnt.' In later years, turned to producing bands and other creative pursuits, including the late-2011 publication of a novel, 'Six Degrees South.'
