Gotye's 'Making Mirrors' has won Best Alternative Album at the 2013 Grammys. The Australian multi-instrumentalist's third album was the first to make a dent in the States.

He's up for a few other awards at the 2013 Grammys, including the coveted Record of the Year for his ubiquitous No. 1 song 'Somebody That I Used to Know,' which also won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with duet partner Kimbra. 'Making Mirrors' is the big win for him, though. He beat Bjork, M83, Tom Waits and Fiona Apple for Best Alternative Album. Congratulations, mate, even though we'd love to have seen Apple's 'The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do' plastered on that golden statue.

Record of the Year is the night's biggie. It will be announced later tonight.
