Jimmy Cliff has won Best Reggae Album at the 2013 Grammys for 'Rebirth,' a disc produced by Tim Armstrong of the enduring East Bay punk band Rancid. Cliff, who previously won in this category for 1986's 'Cliff Hanger,' bested Sly & Robbie, Toots & the Maytals, the Original Wailers and Sean Paul for the honor.

'Rebirth' marks Cliff's first full-length collaboration with Armstrong, the but the reggae great has no shortage of punk cred. His starring turn in the 1972 cult film 'The Harder They Come' made him a hero among the first generation of U.K. punks, and the Clash name-check his character, Ivan, in the classic tune 'Guns of Brixton.'
