The 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced, and the roster is stacked with some of the biggest artists of our generation -- like Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, and finally, the Smiths. N.W.A., Lou Reed and Sting will also be joining the lead candidates for this prestigious musical honor.

The rest of the nominees include Kraftwerk, Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the Marvelettes, the Spinners, War, and Bill Withers. All of the nominees meet this year's criteria for having released their first single or album in 1989 or prior.

The 2015 ceremony will take place on April 18 in Cleveland, Ohio, and the top candidates will be announced toward the end of 2014. This is only the third year since the public has been allowed to weigh in, so cast your vote below by Dec. 9.
