And the Blink-182 saga continues …

Travis Barker stopped by KROQ to discuss the ongoing feud between him, Mark Hoppus and estranged guitarist Tom DeLonge. During the interview, Barker even compared the conflict to “being with a chick that does not like you any more.”

Barker reiterated that it’s been a relief to have the band’s difficulties out in the open.

“I’ve always had to cover up for him. Finally it’s just out,” he said. “He doesn’t want to record. He hasn’t wanted to record. We’ve tried recording four or five times. We’ve catered to him. We’ve got label interest. We did everything he wanted to do and then his manager still send us an email saying ‘Tom’s out.’”

He also elaborated on his previous comments about how he questioned the motivation behind their first reunion 10 years ago.

“From the time my plane crash happened and I survived, [DeLonge] was like, ‘Dude you almost died. I have to play music with you again,’” Barker explained. “Then it turned into interviews where he was like, ‘I was on a plane when Travis got in a plane crash and everyone was talking to me and it felt weird and poor me.’ He took it to a weird place.”

At one point during the band’s back-and-forth, DeLonge tweeted that he and Hoppus were once in discussions about asking Barker to leave the band – a tweet that has since been deleted. When asked about it, Barker said he would’ve taken his leave more gracefully than his bandmate is now.

“You know, I didn’t really know that much about [DeLonge’s tweet]. Mark had to explain it to me, and I was like, cool. If that was his decision, I definitely wouldn’t make the stink that he is now,” Barker said. “I would bow out and be like, much love to you, I wish you nothing but the best. I wouldn’t be doing the back and forth and most importantly, I would speak for myself.”
