ABC Sunday is Spectacular Promo – What’s the Song?

With a new year comes new TV, and this coming Sunday (Jan. 6), ABC is scheduled to unveil the latest seasons of its popular series ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Revenge.’ The commercial is chock full of teasers and features the tune 'To Build a Home' by British electro-jazz group the Cinematic Orchestra.

The song is a track from TCO’s 2007 studio effort ‘Ma Fleur,' and it showcases the vocals of Canadian artist Patrick Watson. In addition to being used in the ABC promo (see below), ‘To Build a Home’ has appeared in a number of other ads and television programs, including a commercial for Schweppes lemonade and episodes of ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Friday Night Lights,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Ugly Betty.’

Jason Swinscoe formed the creative outfit back in 1999, and it’s still going strong. Earlier this year, TCO released ‘In Motion #1’ via Ninja Tune. The album offers seven songs that highlight the strong connections between music and film.
