Even when her laurels include six Grammy Awards, Adele seems hardly one to rest. For all the runaway success of her second album, '21,' the British superstar disclosed in an interview that she hopes to have a new song out by the end of 2012.

Speaking to French radio station NRJ, Adele said she would not be taking a very long break. "There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year," she said. "But then it depends how quickly I write some other new songs."

The new song will most likely not be connected to an album, which she expects will be out sometime in 2014.

"If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album," she continued. "But because I write my own songs, I have to take time and live a little bit. There was a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."

Despite the traditional need for the follow-up to be bigger, Adele has remained grounded as to its expectations before the process of writing and recording the new work has begun.

"I don't think I'll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know that's just not really possible," she said. "What's happened with this one is very rare, anyway."
