Save for maybe the Beatles, no group has a spotless discography. Even the best artists make good and bad records, and sometimes, a band will release an album that almost kills its career. Said discs aren't necessarily bad, and some albums prove disastrous simply because they're experimental undertakings meant to challenge listener expectations. Others just plain suck.

We here at Diffuser.fm are fascinated by such missteps, and alongside our friends at Ultimate Classic Rock, we've compiled a list of 10 Albums That Almost Killed a Band's Career. Fortunately, most of the records we've opted to highlight were followed by more successful efforts, and none of the bands actually fell off the face of the earth -- at least not right away.
