Former Unicorns leader Alden Penner will release the Canada in Space EP on June 29 via City Slang, a follow-up to last year’s June 04 EP and his debut solo LP, Exegesis. Ahead of its arrival, the singer-guitarist has debuted the new track, “Breathe to Burn.” Take a listen below:

“There are more Canadians than any other nationally represented in the planned Mars colony,” Penner said of the new EP in a press release. “The Canada in Space EP is an imagining of the dreams, reveries, phantasms, hallucinations, psycho-spiritual projections, naïve mythologies, actions, visions and experiences of an abandoned crew before, during and after its permanent journey to Mars; the compression of time; dispersion, fragmentation of state and generations in space; ultimate detachment; and wormholes.”

Previously, Penner unveiled “Meditate,” a song featuring actor Michael Cera. That track will also appear on Canada in Space.

Penner will head out on a European tour in support of the new disc, which kicks off on June 23 in London. Cera will join Penner as a member of his backing band and will also play some of his own solo music. Get details on the 11 scheduled stops below:
