Stream Alkaline Trio’s Derek Grant’s Debut Solo Album, ‘Breakdown’

Derek Grant – drummer for Illinois punk outfit Alkaline Trio – will release his debut solo effort, ‘Breakdown,’ tomorrow (Jan. 20) via Red Scare Industries. Before it hits stores, the drummer-turned-solo-artist has made the album available for streaming – listen to it below.

Grant admits his new LP is a departure from Alkaline Trio and his other projects, serving up eight alt-country cuts.

“I sat with these songs for over five years, and it feels great to finally release them,” Grant told Brooklyn Vegan. “This is the beginning of a new chapter for me, both musically and personally, and I’m looking forward to going out and playing some shows.”

Grant already has a few of those shows lined up, including three in Illinois and one in Detroit. Check out the itinerary below.
