Today (May 19), Diffuser is thrilled to partner with Los Angeles-based solo pop rocker AM Exchange for the unveiling of the second single from his upcoming debut EP, Intentions, with the new track “Unreachable” -- check it out in the audio player below.

Daniel Jacobs -- the mastermind behind AM Exchange -- has a history both in grunge rock and acoustic music; his new solo act is a beautiful culmination of multiple worlds and influences colliding, and “Unreachable” is the perfect introduction to that musicianship.

“The chorus of ‘Unreachable’ is inspired by a moment I think a lot of us have had,” Jacobs says. “You’re in a crowded room and everyone is on their phone, no one is talking to each other face-to-face. Most of us have been there, I’ve been guilty of it. The song is a sort of reflection on how we are often turning inward to communicate outward.”

“I’m not anti-technology,” he admits, “I’m just describing a snapshot of my reaction at that moment. IF we’re doing pretty much all of our communication with that barrier and not seeing other human reactions, if we’re only going to sites that back our point of view, if we’re taking out the messy, human parts of life or oversimplifying things and taking a social media post as a whole story, I think that can be dangerous. If we take out the highs and lows, we’re left with mediocrity.”
