Enthusiastic rocker-turned-motivational speaker Andrew W.K. has pretty much cornered the market on garrulous, somewhat disconcerting sincerity; he's done an assortment of odd things over the last decade or so and has appeared to mean every single one of them, right down to his mesmerizing MTV reality series, 'Your Friend, Andrew W.K.' And now we can add one more item to the list: Andrew W.K. has booked a speaking engagement at a My Little Pony convention.

The Hub Network's new animated series 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic' has sparked a resurgence in the venerable toy line's popularity, including an enthusiastic contingent of male fans who call themselves Bronies -- and who apparently count the 'Party Hard' and 'We Want Fun' singer among their growing number.

As Andrew W.K. announced via Twitter, he'll attempt to cover two topics in his speech to the convention: partying and the My Little Pony character named Pinkie Pie. Appropriately enough, it will be titled 'In the Flesh: What Would Pinkie Pie Do?' (As Pitchfork notes, "Spoiler: She would party.")

It all sounds pretty daffy, and it sort of is, but it does have at least a tenuous connection to reality. Well, maybe not the part where the convention press release calls Andrew "the real life embodiment of Pinkie Pie herself," but his speech topic -- described as "a look into how to make your job as fun as your party, and your party as important as your job" -- does sound moderately useful. Who couldn't use a little advice on how to make their job more fun, right?

If you're interested in attending the convention, which will also boast an appearance by Sherclop from Friendship is Witchcraft, act now -- pre-registration for the event, which is scheduled to be held September 28-30 at the Canterlot Gardens in Strongsville, Ohio, is already open. Bonus: "Your young foals under the age of 13 may attend for free (with the full-price admission of an adult guardian)!"
