Arcade Fire to Release ‘Suburbs’ Remixes for Record Store Day 2012
Arcade Fire will be celebrating Record Store Day in April with the vinyl release of two new remixes of tracks from their award-winning album 'The Suburbs.' The 12" pressing of 'Ready to Start' and 'Sprawl II' remixes will allow fans to own the recordings in a physical format for the first time.
The limited edition vinyl releases, remixed by the band with Damian Taylor, will be available on April 21 at outlets participating in Record Store Day. Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 as a way for music fans to support their local independent record stores, many of which have been fighting to survive as they face increased competition from online and corporate retailers.
There's no need to wait until April to actually hear the remixes, since they've already been posted online in YouTube videos. Check out the innovative 'Sprawl II' remix video and listen to the 'Ready to Start' remix, which transforms the original into a majestic eight-minute piece of art.
