That old adage about too many cooks spoiling the soup evidently doesn't apply to ASCAP. In honor of their 100th anniversary, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers made a film called 'Why We Create Music,' and in the process, they wound up with something extra: an all-star original song. 'More Than the Stars' is the joint effort of all 15 artists profiled in the movie, and today, Diffuser joins sister sites the Boombox, Taste of Country and PopCrush in premiering the video for the track.

Among those instrumental in the creation of 'More Than the Stars' was Dan Wilson, the singer, songwriter and producer who scored big with Semisonic in the '90s -- you know you love 'Closing Time' -- and co-wrote Adele's 'Someone Like You.' The song also features contributions from the likes of new-school R&B producer Ne-Yo, old-school R&B great Bill Withers, pop-production duo Stargate and soul singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc.

According to ASCAP -- which helps songwriters and composers collect royalties, license their work and generally obtain fair compensation for their creative efforts -- 'More Than the Stars' is an "inspiring anthem for music creators and music fans alike."
