We Miss ‘True Detective’ a Little Less After Watching This AT&T Commercial

Subscribe to on

Ever since ‘True Detective’ wrapped up its first-season run a few weeks ago, we’ve been jonesing for more of the show. Unfortunately, when it returns, Matthew McConaughey’s Rust Cohle won’t be a part of it.

A new commercial from AT&T makes this a little easier to handle.

Following in line with the company’s other recent commercials, in which little kids are grouped together and then shoved into situations where adults talk to them, this ‘True Detective’-inspired one is actually quite funny, especially the pseudo-intellectual lines uttered by the Rust lookalike.

BTW: The baffled looks on the kids’ faces pretty much look like our faces during the majority of McConaughey’s speeches last season.
