Watch: President Trump Seems Unimpressed By French Band’s Daft Punk Medley

President Donald Trump joined French President Emmanuel Macron for a Bastille Day Parade in Paris earlier today where a military brass band broke with tradition and performed a medley of Draft Punk music. Trump didn’t seem that impressed.

The group began with the hymn of Nice, “Nissa La Bella,” in tribute to victims of a 2016 terror attack in which a man drove his car into crowds following a fireworks display, according to the Local. Then, as the presidents and first ladies watched from a platform, they moved into the more upbeat medley of Daft Punk music, highlighted by the French electronic duo’s 2013 hit “Get Lucky.”

Originally performed with Pharrell Williams on Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, “Get Lucky” was described by Diffuser’s Amy Sciarretto back then as “an elegant and stylish song with a looped beat that could inspire even the staunchest wallflower to get up and dance.”

Trump, however, sat motionless with his arms folded, while his French counterpart smiled broadly throughout. “Macron looked like he was having the time of his life,” Mashable reports. A wide variety of other mainstream and social media also poked fun at the U.S. president’s apparent lack of interest in electronic dance music.

Trump did, however, applaud at the conclusion of the performance, which included portions of Daft Punk’s “One More Time” and “Harder Better Stronger Faster,” as well.
