Bat for Lashes to Preview New Album, Mount 2012 Summer European Tour
Natasha Khan, the spectral songstress better known as Bat for Lashes, is set to preview parts of her as-yet-unannounced and as-yet-untitled third album at an intimate U.K show on June 13 -- and then will hit the road for a series of European festivals appearances.
After a 2010 spent on the road in support of the brilliant dread-pop album 'Two Suns,' Khan had a performance-light 2011, playing one set of gigs, all in Australia. She wanted to "take more time" with the next album, and indeed she has -- her only other major activity was a Beck collaboration for the 'Twilight' soundtrack, the enchanting 'Let's Get Lost.'
Fans have been in wait for a follow up to 'Two Suns,' in which the London-born singer donned the alter-ego of Pearl, a crystalline wraith that rocked and weeped and wailed, forging the best combination of existential dread and dancefloor beats since Depeche Mode — whom she covered for a Gucci ad.
Her third record has been in the oven for a while now. We're dreading its arrival — in a very good way.
