Beck Releases ‘Defriended’ Single, Announces Two New Albums

Beck has not one, but two new independent albums coming down the pike: a previously announced acoustic disc and an album that a source has called “the proper follow-up to ‘Modern Guilt.’” If that isn’t enough, he’s unleashed a standalone single, ‘Defriended,’ which showcases his signature electro-pop style — check it out via the clip above.

The source described the acoustic album as “a small-bore, self-contained work along the lines of 1994's ‘One Foot in the Grave,’” and fans can expect to hear it sometime this fall.  Beck also plans to release at least one more single before the albums hit stores.

Beck has a string of international tour dates lined up, including appearances at the Days Off Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Celebrate Brooklyn! and Canada’s Osheaga fest. He’s also set to perform at San Francisco’s Treasure Island Music Festival in the fall. Visit his official site for more info.
