Beck is set to release a country music-flavored single called 'I Just Started Hating Some People Today,' his first song for Jack White's Third Man Records. The new song arrives on May 28 via the Third Man website and retailers across the country.

A snippet of the track on the Third Man site reveals twangy guitars and a melody that sounds straight out of Nashville, which, not coincidentally, is where Beck recorded the tune last year. He sings, "I just started hating some people today / Talking trash behind your back all day / Saying things that a garbage man would not say / I just started hating some people today."

According to a press release, 'Hating' and its flipside, 'Blue Randy,' came together on the last day of Beck's studio session in Music City while he was recording material for his next album. Based on a short preview, 'Blue Randy' is a quieter, acoustic song featuring spoken lyrics.

The standalone single will be available in physical form at Randy's Records in Salt Lake City, where 100 tri-color 7-inch discs will go on sale. A batch of 50 additional tri-color singles will be randomly inserted into packages of buyers who purchase the single on Third Man's site.

No release date has been set for Beck's next album, the follow-up to 2008's 'Modern Guilt.' Rolling Stone reports that he played a concert in Los Angeles last night, his first of 2012, but did not perform any new songs.
