Beck has already indicated that his forthcoming album, ‘Morning Phase’ — his first in almost six years — will be a belated “companion piece of sorts” to 2002’s introspective ‘Sea Change.’ Today, the singer-songwriter debuted ‘Waking Light,’ the second single to emerge from the album, and it’s proving that claim to be true.

The sprawling piano-driven ballad follows ‘Morning Phase’’s first single, ‘Blue Moon,’ and both are melancholic yet extremely rich in tone. Neither is a far cry from 'Sea Change.'

Stream the lovely new track above and grab the album when it lands on Feb. 25 via Capitol Records.
