As we told you yesterday (Feb. 24), Ben Folds is preparing to release a new album this spring -- and he also hinted at upcoming tour dates. Well, those hints have turned tangible as of today.

Folds, along with New York City instrumental combo yMusic, will hit the road for a handful of dates in April and May in support of his new album. The upcoming disc was recorded in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles and was wrapped up in just under two weeks.

In addition to the new work, his much heralded Concerto for Piano and Orchestra will also get an official release. That series of live concerts from last year were commissioned in part by the Nashville Ballet, and makes for an interesting side note in Folds' career. "Maybe next time I go on stage, it might be like, seven dudes with laptops, and a chamber orchestra, (claps) -- breakdancers!," Folds told the Tennessean last year. "I have no idea what we're gonna do. Cirque du Soleil with a piano. I have no idea."
