Death Cab for Cutie are set to release their eighth full-length, Kintsugi, on March 31, and ahead of its arrival, frontman Ben Gibbard stopped by SiriusXM and treated listeners to a cover of Guided by Voices’ “Tractor Rape Chain.” Listen to his rendition in the video above.

“Tractor Rape Chain” appeared on the Dayton, Ohio-hailing indie-rockers’ seventh album, 1994’s Bee Thousand. Last year, the band announced their breakup for a second time following a reunion in 2010 and a string of new albums, the last of which was 2014’s Cool Planet.

Kintsugi -- which lands in stores in just a couple of days via Atlantic and is available to stream now -- follows the Seattle outfit’s 2011 LP, Codes and Keys. The new album marks Death Cab’s last with founding member Chris Walla, who parted ways with the band after recording was concluded. Recently, Gibbard described Walla’s departure as “bittersweet” and their relationship as “complicated.”

Death Cab will kick off a tour in support of Kintsugi on April 10 in Mesa, Ariz. Check out a complete list of dates and grab tickets on the band’s website.
