Best Coast’s new ‘Fade Away’ EP landed last week on frontwoman Bethany Cosentino’s Jewel City imprint, and now the duo has debuted a video for the mini-album’s closing track, ‘Fade Away.’ True to form, it’s all California sunshine and lovelorn surf rock.

While the sunny clip, directed by Patrick O’Dell, is quintessential Best Coast, Constentino says she was looking to change things up slightly.

“I wanted to make a video that was super fun and L.A.-inspired without doing anything at the beach like so many of our videos,” she said.

Decked out in some kind of yin-yang sweater dress confection, Costentino takes center stage, singing her heart out as as skateboarders fly past. There's no surf or sand, but this one still has the distinct Best Coast thumbprint all over it. Catch the band on tour with the Pixies this February.
