Billie Joe Armstrong is still slated to make his scheduled appearance on this season of ‘The Voice,’ despite the fact that the Green Day singer has been shipped off to rehab to battle undisclosed substance abuse issues following his profanity-filled meltdown at this weekend’s iHeart Radio Festival in Las Vegas.

“We’re taped and all set,” an NBC rep says about Armstrong’s ‘Voice’ appearance. The singer will appear as a mentor to Coach Christina Aguilera‘s team on this season of the NBC reality singing competition series, which premiered on Sept. 10. Armstrong joined ‘The Voice’ in July with the explanation that “it’s not molding artists, it’s just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover.”

Green Day have postponed several promotional appearances ahead of Tuesday’s (Sept. 25) release of ‘¡Uno!,’ the first of three albums in the band’s upcoming trilogy of releases. Green Day also issued a statement apologizing for Armstrong’s Vegas tirade, which occurred after the band was told to cut short its set. “We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas,” reads a portion of the statement.
