Last month, Billy Corgan announced that he would be releasing an experimental album in very limited quantities on his website.

And while the 500 copies of 'AEGEA,' not so surprisingly, sold out rather quickly, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman is giving a taste of the record to fans who weren't so lucky to jump on the limited pressings.

While the three-minute audio clip, which you can listen to above, doesn't amount to much more than various synth noises and other, um, noises, it at least proves that Corgan is interested in more than just epic-sized alt-rock inspired by '70s classic rockers.

The track -- titled '#3,' according to the clip -- reportedly dates back to 2007, but since Corgan has been playing around with similar sounds lately, there's a chance that it may be more recent than that.
