Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan announced he would delete his Twitter account and launch a new blog dubbed "People and Their Cars." As the name suggests, the blog is mostly what one would expect: photos of people with their cars.

“After mulling this for a while, I’m deleting this account,” Corgan tweeted before deleting his handle. “So many thanks to those that have followed. Find me at: PeopleAndTheirCars.com.”

Over at People and Their Cars, Corgan has curated vintage photos of people and cars (although some inexplicable outliers don’t fulfill these parameters). Most of the photos don’t include captions, but they all come with titles -- some better than others (e.g., “Golden Girls,” “After Church, and Before Breakfast”).

Corgan offers this description of the site: “Pictures (mostly Vernacular), design elements (found), and ephemera with smatterings of Art (conscious).”

If you’re already hooked, Corgan is offering a free Red Border Club membership which gives you the chance to receive more photos and “be ‘first-in-line’ for updates on new merchandise and forthcoming People and Their Cars/Hexestential books.”

So far, People and Their Cars merch includes the Smashing Pumpkins’ most recent album, Monuments to an Elegy, on vinyl or CD and a mug or sampler from Corgan’s tea house Madame ZuZu’s.
