-- Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the recent Ween split is Dean Ween's first solo album, which the guitarist is currently recording with Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme serving as producer. The as-yet-untitled disc, which he expects to wrap up early next year, will feature an eclectic roster of guests including ex-QOTSA rocker Nick Oliveri, Aerosmith’s Joe Kramer, and Ween’s Glenn McClelland, Dave Dreiwitz and Claude Coleman. [Consequence of Sound]

-- The long-rumored and oft-denied Rolling Stones reunion tour is on -- sort of, probably. Stones guitarist Keith Richards recently told Q Magazine that the band has a few gigs lined up, although nothing is confirmed and details are scant. “We’ve got some shows in London, I believe, and in New York, but I really can’t talk about any of that at the moment.," he said.
