Bjork has been forced to cancel a handful of festival dates, including headlining sets at Spain’s Primavera Sound and Portugal’s Optimus Primavera Sound in June, due to ongoing issues with her voice. According to a statement from concert organizers, a “doctor advised her to keep resting and not to continue with the shows as they could bring a permanent damage to her voice.” The Icelandic pixie previously nixed two dates in Buenos Aries, Argentina due to the presence of a nodule on her vocal cords.

"After two weeks of voice rest I went to my vocal doctor and she came to this conclusion: I need to rest for six more weeks," Bjork wrote in a message posted on her Facebook page. "The good news is that we both feel pretty confident i can start singing fully healed in the middle of June."

"I am very sorry and embarrassed about having to cancel things and having promised things and then not being able to keep my word, truly breaks my heart," the note continued. "Especially to people who have already bought tickets."

The other affected shows are July appearances at Balaton Sound, in Lake Balaton, Hungary, and the Afisha Picnic in Moscow, Russia. Bjork still has 10 shows left on her 2012 itinerary; her next show is June 22 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Check out her updated schedule below.
