Just in time for the May 13 release of their eighth album ‘True Blue,’ the Black Keys will be the musical guest on this weekend’s ‘Saturday Night Live.’ In anticipation of the episode, the Akron duo appears in promo clips with host Charlize Theron and ‘SNL’ star Cecily Strong — see for yourself in the above clip.

After the ‘SNL’ appearance and ‘True Blue’'s debut, the Keys will venture out on tour, starting in their Ohio stomping grounds with a date in Columbus on Sept. 5. The tour features opening acts Cage the Elephant, Jake Bugg and St. Vincent.

With the tour announcement came a goofy video of the band in the form of a fake press conference. You can watch it below.

That very video, along with a host of amusing music videos and a beard-disguised appearance on FX comedy ‘Workaholics,’ we know Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have a funny side. However, in the ‘SNL’ promos, the twosome seem to be more or less along for the ride, but maybe the duo will appear in a skit or two come Saturday -- here's hoping.
