Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are gearing up for the March 18 release of their new album, 'Specter At the Feast,' by issuing the disc's first single, 'Let the Day Begin.' It's a cover of a tune by the Call, the New Wave rock band formed in the early '80s by Michael Been, late father of BRMC frontman Robert Levon Been and the band's touring soundman for much of the last decade. Michael Been died while Black Rebel were working on 'Specter At the Feast,' and the band chose to honor him by covering the Call's biggest hit, adding a thick layer of grimey, dirty fuzz to the original's charging assault but overall turning in a pretty faithful reworking.
