Bob Dylan to Be Honored as Person of the Year During 2015 Grammy Week
The times may be a-changin', but one thing has remained constant over the years, and that's the impact Bob Dylan has in the music world. Recognizing his influence, on Feb. 6, 2015, he will be honored as the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year.
The honor will be bestowed on Robert Zimmerman during Grammy Week, just a couple of nights before the 57th Annual Grammy Awards (Feb. 8). During the celebration, Dylan will be serenaded with a special concert featuring performances by Beck, the Black Keys, Norah Jones, Jack White, Neil Young and more.
President and CEO of the MusiCares Foundation, Neil Portnow, says, "In celebrating the 25th anniversary of our MusiCares Person of the Year tribute, it is most fitting that we are honoring Bob Dylan, whose body of creative work has contributed to America's culture, as well as that of the entire world, in genuinely deep and lasting ways."
The MusiCares Foundation exists as a "safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need." Additionally, the organization "focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare o the music community."
