Body/Head, the experimental guitar duo comprised of former Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, will release No Waves on Nov. 11. It's a live record that documents their set from the Bijou Theater at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tenn., on March 24, 2014.

It's their second album, following 2013's Coming Apart, and while it's only three tracks spread out over nearly 40 minutes, the notes on Matador Records' site says that it "captures that raw improvisation and harnesses the power into a listening experience of pure, unmediated intensity." You can pre-order No Waves at Sonic Youth's online store on CD and LP, with a bundle that includes a Body/Head t-shirt.

Next month, the duo are embarking on a brief tour where they'll play four U.S. cities -- Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles -- in the span of a week. You can see all the dates below and get full information at Matador Records' website.

No Waves is the second piece of new music coming from Gordon in recent month. Back in September, she released her debut solo song, "Murdered Out." The track was inspired by seeing cars throughout her new home of Los Angeles that are covered in black matte spray paint. “Like an option on a voting ballot, ‘none of the above,'” she said, “[black matte] is the ultimate expression in digging out, getting rid of, purging the soul. Like a black hole, the supreme inward look, a culture collapsing in on itself.”
