Broken Bells Tell Outer Space Love Story In ‘Holding On for Life’ Video

Broken Bells have debuted a new video for ‘Holding on for Life,’ and it compiles scenes from parts one and two of the duo’s short film ‘After the Disco,’ which is also the title of their forthcoming album.

‘Holding on for Life’ continues the story of intergalactic star-crossed lovers Helen and Oliver, portrayed by ‘House of Cards’ actress Kate Mara and ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin, respectively. Following a spaceship rave — where Broken Bells’ own Danger Mouse and James Mercer provide Yelchin’s character with a drug-inducing space helmet — the couple’s romance hits a bump in the road.

In addition to premiering the brand-new clip, Broken Bells have announced they’re postponing the release of their upcoming album. Initially slated for a Jan. 14 release, it will now arrive on Feb. 4 and be followed by a tour in the spring.
