Cat Power Brings ‘Cherokee’ to ‘Conan’

We absolutely love Cat Power's 'Cherokee,' the standout first single off her 'Sun' album, and it's always interesting to see what twists singer Chan Marshall will bring to a song when she rocks it live. So it was with great anticipation that we tuned into 'Conan' last night (Nov. 7) to catch Chan and her band perform, and they did not disappoint.

Backed by a crew that included a drummer, second percussionist, keyboardist and female guitarist also providing backing vocals, Chan transformed the tune into a haunting spirit jam, upping the tempo a bit and adding some extra ghostly swagger. Cat Power wraps up a North American tour tonight in Los Angeles but has postponed her upcoming European trek due to recent struggles with an illness called angioedema.
