She & Him have premiered their video for ‘I Could’ve Been Your Girl’ on HelloGiggles.com, a lifestyle and entertainment site for women co-founded by frontwoman Zooey Deschanel. The clip isn’t a departure for the cutesy, ‘60s-inspired actress-turned-singer-songwriter, but it is her first credit as director. Deschanel dances her way through the clip, seemingly trying to win the attention of guitarist M. Ward. He, however, spends the video averting his eyes from all the vintage dresses and group dance numbers by cowering behind a newspaper.

Following the National’s ‘Letterman’ performance of ‘Don’t Swallow the Cap’ on Monday night (May 20), the show’s host complimented the Brooklyn-based band on a job well done, appropriately remarking, “A lot going on there.” Yes, there was, as Thomas Bartlett — who goes by the stage name Doveman — sat in with the group on keyboard, joining the string and horn sections also guesting on the tune.

Palma Violets, 'Best of Friends' – New Video

British indie rockers Palma Violets have released a video for ‘Best of Friends,’ the first track off their 2013 debut album, ‘180,’ and in it, the band is up to no good. The black-and-white clip follows the band’s members -- Alexander “Chilli” Jesson, Sam Fryer, Pete Mayhew and Will Doyle -- as they cause trouble in the streets and while performing for a crowd of unenthused bar patrons. Contrary to the song’s chorus, the band seems to be having difficulty making any friends, as they set off small explosions in trash cans, knock newspapers out of pedestrians’ hands and, at the end, break into an all-out fight at the aforementioned bar.

Last night's season finale of 'SNL' marked Fred Armisen's last episode as a cast member, our sister site ScreenCrush reports, and to mark the occasion, he performed a goodbye song as Ian Rubbish, the Margaret Thatcher-loving British punk character he debuted earlier this season. But that's not all: Midway through the tune -- a jaunty number called 'It's Gonna Be a Lovely Day' -- Armisen was joined onstage by his 'Portlandia' costar, former Sleater-Kinney singer Carrie Brownstein, the first in a string of guest rockers that included Dinosaur Jr.'s J. This time, it's 'My God Is the Sun,' which will be the album's first single. The epic and artsy track features those signature Josh Homme riffs and dramatic, vibrato-y vocals. It makes you wonder how anyone could've ever considered QOTSA to be stoner rock.

Ty Segall has announced the release of a new album, ‘Sleeper,’ and rather than do so via a boring press release, the ambitious San Francisco-based garage rocker has unveiled a brief "commercial" to promote the forthcoming set. The 30-second clip (watch above) finds Segall dozing off around the house, on the ground and even in a tree — which is ironic, considering he seems far too busy to ever sleep.

Last week, Queens of the Stone Age unveiled a video for ‘I Appear Missing’ and now, the animated journey continues with a newly released clip for the tune ‘Kalopsia,’ a term referencing "a condition wherein things appear more beautiful than they are." The vid (watch above) is graphic and more than a little creepy, but it pairs well with the song’s haunting vocals.
