Although the legendary CBGB rock club closed back in 2006, its name lives on. The CBGB Festival is back for its second consecutive year, set to take place in New York City from Oct. 9-13.

“The festival will be a fantastic mixture of emerging artist showcases, music business conferences, rock and roll film screenings and industry panel discussions and a whiskey fest to be remembered!” reads the official website, which also boasts appearances by 700 performers in 150 venues.

Last year’s affair ran from July 5-8 in Times Square and marked the largest music festival in NYC. Along with an abundance of live music, the festival also showcased dozens of music flicks at theatres throughout the city. Featured acts included Superchunk, the Hold Steady and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Guided By Voices also headlined a free show, joined by Cloud Nothings and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

The lineup for the 2013 edition of the fest is coming soon. In the meantime, click here for more info about the highly anticipated event.
