Celebrate Brooklyn! is back for its 35th go-round with an array of internationally acclaimed artists in tow. This year’s summer-long New York City festival features performances by the likes of Jim James, the Roots, Beck and many more. The fest is heavy on free shows, though some events -- the Beck and James gigs among them -- are ticketed benefits.

Other acts on the lineup include Belle and Sebastian, Dan Deacon, Yo La Tengo, Patty Griffin, Grouplove, Alpine, Mavis Staples, Calexico, Big Boi, Amadou & Mariam, Susana Baca, Bombino, Os Mutantes, Javelin, Theophilus London, Les Nubians, Aabaraki, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Aurelio Martinez, the Waterboys, Alasdair Roberts, the Lone Bellow, the Low Anthem, Joe Purdy, Trampled by Turtles, the Devil Makes Three, Brown Bird, Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five, Guster, Jamie Lidell, the Stepkids, They Might Be Giants and Moon Hooch.

“Celebrate Brooklyn! is one of New York City's longest running, free, outdoor performing arts festivals,” reads the fest’s official site. “Launched in 1979 as a catalyst for a Brooklyn performing arts scene and to bring people back into Prospect Park after years of neglect, Celebrate Brooklyn! was an early anchor in the park's revitalization and has become one of the city's foremost summer cultural attractions.”
