The concert-going population of New York City is set to increase exponentially at the end of October for the annual CMJ Music Marathon.

Organizers have just revealed the first batch of performers for the festival including former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, psychedelic rock duo the Kills and recently reunited shoegaze outfit Slowdive.

The marathon will take place at more than 80 venues across the city featuring upwards of 1,300 artists. More than 125,000 fans are expected to attend between Oct. 21-25.

Other acts announced include: Bombay Bicycle Club, Cold War Kids, Courtney Barnett, Shonen Knife and Matthew Dear (among many others). To see the full lineup as it's revealed, go here.
