Coheed and Cambria have shared a lyric video for “Eraser,” the latest song to emerge from their upcoming album, The Color Before the Sun. Take a listen above.

“Eraser” follows The Color Before the Sun's “You Got Spirit, Kid” and “Here to Mars,” but for Coheed drummer Josh Eppard, their latest track reflects the music of the band’s youth.

“To me, ‘Eraser’ embodies the music we grew up on maybe better than any Coheed song to date,” Eppard said in a statement. “We were little sponges in the ‘90s when the Pumpkins and Nirvana were creating a landscape all their own. I hear those bands in our song ‘Eraser’ and I’m extremely proud of that.”

Outside of their upcoming LP’s newest single, the band recently received some unexpected promo when frontman Claudio Sanchez was going about his day, grabbing Starbucks and was intercepted by a class of kindergarteners in Brooklyn looking for a performance. Sanchez obliged, busking a new, unreleased tune from The Color Before the Sun. If nothing else, Sanchez and company have found a lifelong fan in the teacher dancing in back. Check it out below.

The Color Before the Sun is slated for an Oct. 16 release via 300 Entertainment. You can pre-order a digital copy on iTunes or grab the limited-edition box set at the band’s website.

Coheed and Cambria’s tour picks up on Oct. 11 at Asbury Park, N.J. Then, they have dates scheduled through the beginning of November, including appearances at Aftershcok Festival in Sacramento, Calif., and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. Get more details right here.
