Watch Courtney Barnett Tear Through a Set at SXSW
Courtney Barnett’s buzzed-about debut, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, will arrive tomorrow (March 24) and just ahead of its release, the Australian singer-guitarist premiered the album at a handful of shows at SXSW in Austin last week. One such appearance was at NPR’s showcase at Stubb’s, and if you weren’t lucky enough to be there in the flesh, you can now catch the singer’s entire set at this location.
Barnett and her band played eight of her upcoming LP’s 11 tracks, hugging the microphone as she impressed concertgoers with her brand of witty, talk-singing garage rock. It’s safe to say that despite declaring, “Put me on a pedestal / And I’ll only disappoint you,” in the second song of the night, “Pedestrian at Best,” Barnett did anything but disappoint. Check out the complete setlist below.
Even if you weren’t able to make it out to Barnett’s SXSW shows, you can still catch the Melbourne-based singer live when she ventures out on tour this summer. She’ll arrive stateside for a string of dates in May. See her full list of stops here.
Previously, the Melbourne-based singer revealed music videos for Sometimes I Sit and Think singles, “Pedestrian at Best” and “Depreston.”
