By now, we’re all familiar with Courtney Love’s rock-star ways, but she recently revealed a new side of herself – her hip-hop side. On Jan. 21 at the Sundance Film Festival's Star Bar, the sometime Hole frontwoman put her own unique spin on Jay-Z’s '99 Problems.'

“It either sucks, or it’s genius; I don’t know,” Love laughed before launching into the well-known rap hit. You can decide for yourself by checking out the clip below.

Her show at Sundance – which happened to be her first solo gig since 2010 – was an intimate gathering filled with surprises. In addition to that unexpected cover, she played several Hole classics, including ‘Northern Star,’ ‘Skinny Little Bitch’ and ‘Miss World.’ She capped the long, impressive set with three encores.

In a statement last fall, Love hinted at releasing a new single on Feb. 7 titled ‘This Is War,’ a track that was reportedly produced by former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha. "I'd put it out right now because it's a two-minute, 59-second song and it's sick, slamming, great,” she said of the tune. “It's a really fast rock song. I'm telling you, it's probably the greatest rock song I've ever heard."
