Courtney Love Covers Al Green’s Classic, ‘Take Me to the River’
On Wednesday night (Feb. 11), Courtney Love will make an exciting appearance on FOX's new TV show, 'Empire.' The show focuses on the workings of the hip-hop entertainment company Empire Enterprises, and Love's character is looking for a new hit -- even though she's a bit past her prime.
Chatting with Entertainment Weekly, Love said she "had to get into the mindset of someone with that kind of sense of entitlement. I wanted to get more into the real diva and a delusional diva because I'm on drugs -- not in life but as this character."
She laughingly adds, "You can't imagine the research I had to do for that because I know nothing about that! But it was super fun ... I had the time of my life filming."
So what song does Love sing in the upcoming 'Empire' episode? None other than the timeless hit from Al Green, 'Take Me to the River.' It's streaming on Spotify at this location, and you can check it out (along with the original version) below:
