Courtney Love’s Opera, ‘Kansas City Choir Boy,’ Receives Run of Dates in Boston
Former Hole frontwoman Courtney Love tried her hand at opera earlier this year, starring in Kansas City Choir Boy for a brief run in New York City. Now, it was announced today (July 21) that Love will reprise the role for a run in Boston from Oct. 1-10.
Love is no stranger to acting: She has a guest role in FOX's Empire, and very well could have played Harley Quinn had a '90s Batman movie not been cancelled. As for her desire to do to opera, she said earlier this year that it came out of boredom:
I was on tour in Australia, and it was namby-pamby, like House of Blues 2,500-seaters. That's where we're at — literally, the oldies circuit. I'm in the middle of [Hole's] "Doll Parts" thinking, "Are we done yet?" I wanted to do something different and this is great. I didn't write any of it, which is new for me -- to let go.
Tickets for the new run of Kansas City Choir Boy are on sale now here.
