As Courtney Love prepares to release a new 7” this summer, today (May 18) she’s shared the A-side to the disc, “Miss Narcissist.” With a pounding rhythm and a screaming nod to Nirvana (“No apologies!”), "Miss Narcissist" is a powerful statement from Love, one that is a clear indication of her grunge and alt-rock roots. You can listen to the undeniably ’90s-tinged rock tune in the audio player below:

The record label Ghost Ramp is releasing Love's new single, which will be backed with "Radio Killer" -- while the vinyl is expected to ship mid-summer, all pre-orders come with an instant download of "Miss Narcissist." You can find more details here.

The release of new music comes as a bit of a surprise as Love recently stated she wasn’t “that interested in doing music right now unless it’s for Empire” or her musical, Kansas City Choir Boy. Following those two projects, Love is currently on the road with Lana Del Rey; you can find her remaining tour dates at this location.

No word yet if "Miss Narcissist" is a hint at an upcoming full-length from Love, or just a one-off release. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
