Crucial Cut of the Month – September 2013

Every morning, right after we figure out where we are and piece together the events of the previous evening, Diffuser.fm gives away a free MP3. Today, it might be brooding alt-country, while tomorrow might bring thumping indie disco, earnest '90s-style emo or socially conscious hip-hop. There's no telling what we might throw you, and now, we’re asking you to tell us what you like best and vote in our Crucial Cut of the Month contest. It’s a chance to select your favorite free MP3 of the last month and help your favorite emerging acts get a little digital love.

Here’s how it works: On the first of every month, we post a poll like the one below. Listed here is every song we gave away during September 2013. You have all of October to cast your ballots, and on Nov. 1 — the day we roll out the next poll — we’ll announce the top vote-getter. What do they win? Diffuser.fm can't promise fame or fortune, but we can and will profile each Crucial Cut winner with a Q&A feature, and throughout the month, we’ll promote their music on our homepage and via social networks.
