Daft Punk Draft Julian Casablancas, Wax Figures for ‘Instant Crush’ Video

Daft Punk have released a video for ‘Instant Crush,’ a song from their excellent comeback album ‘Random Access Memories.’ While it’s hard to imagine any of their songs becoming quite as contagious as ‘Get Lucky’ was this summer, the French duo do their best with the help of Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, whose vocals are featured on the track.

Casablancas — who performs on a video set that looks like it’s straight out of the ‘80s — narrates the tragic love story between two wax figurines in a museum. The figurines seemingly fall for one another, at least as far as we can tell from the close-ups of their unmoving eyes. But despite their lack of animation, their love story is quite fiery — literally. See what we mean in the video above.
