Danger Mouse Launches His Own Record Label, Signs Autolux
Previous reports that Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton) would launch his own label underneath the Columbia Records umbrella have been confirmed today (Aug. 17). The acclaimed producer has officially announced the launch of his 30th Century imprint.
A press release reveals that the very first artist signed to Danger Mouse’s newly minted label is L.A. experimental rockers Autolux, who are currently working on a follow-up to their 2010 sophomore effort, Transit Transit.
Danger Mouse is also currently rumored to be the producer for Red Hot Chili Peppers’ next album. RHCP just recently revealed that they’ve entered the studio to record their latest full-length, which will follow 2011’s I’m With You.
Danger Mouse has also worked with the likes of the Gorillaz, Beck, the Black Keys, U2, A$AP Rocky and more. He’s also one half of Broken Bells, his collaborative project with the Shins’ James Mercer. Together, they released their second LP, After the Disco, last year.
