The Twin Cities is soon to become a major stop on the ever-growing festival circuit, as the inaugural River's Edge Music Festival will take place on June 23 and 24 on Harriet Island in St. Paul, Minn. The Dave Matthews Band and Tool, playing their only U.S. date of 2012, will headline the event.

Other noted acts on the bill are the Flaming Lips, DJ/producer Diplo, MUTEMATH and Americana rockers Delta Spirit. Local buzz band Polica will also perform. In total, more than 30 bands will be on display on four stages during the two-day concert. In a move that has become popular in European festivals, the DJ Stage will feature wireless technology so that only its participants will be able to hear the music.

The pre-sale for tickets will begin April 10 through Citi's Private Pass Program. Early bird tickets, which are $99 for the two-day festival, will be onsale at the Xcel Energy Center box office in downtown St. Paul from April 13-20. VIP Gold and Silver Packages will also be offered.

Organizers have signed an agreement with the city of St. Paul to hold the River's Edge Music Festival every summer through 2016. The festival will partner with Children’s Cancer Research Fund to raise awareness and funds throughout the weekend.
