David Bowie’s final album Blackstar will be transformed into an online mini-series featuring 15-second episodes.

Prior to his passing at the beginning of the year, Bowie granted Instagram permission to use his then-forthcoming album Blackstar as inspiration for an "InstaMiniSeries," the social network’s channel for super-short video series comprised of 15-second episodes. UNBOUND: A ★ InstaMiniSeries will star Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson and actress Patricia Clarkson, and it will debut this Thursday (Feb. 25) at 8PM EST. The series will span 16 episodes. Following its premiere, new episodes will arrive every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

UNBOUND's credits include director Nikki Borges, writer Carolynn Cecilia and co-producer Lawrence Peryer. A press release describes the series as taking the audience on “a journey of evocative images inspired by the moods suggested in the album’s music, lyrics and artwork.”

“In light of recent events, this project has taken on new significance for all of us -- cast and crew,” Peryer said. “We are very happy to be bringing a new creative work to David’s fan[s] worldwide at a time when a focus on his music and art is much-needed.”
